With the support of South 24 Parganas district Self Help Group & Self Employment (SHG & SE) department, Southern Resque has completed computer, tailoring and candle making training for 580 rural women under Kulpi, Bishnupur-II and Magrahat-II blocks. All the trainees have got certificates from competent authority and engaged as self-employed.

In Bishnupur-II Block, 60 rural women have undergone training on computer software and tailoring for a period of 3 months and are engaged as self-employed.

30 rural women capacitated on computer software training and have shared their willingness to participate in beautician and tailoring courses in Magrahat-II Block. Meanwhile they are engaged as self-employed.

The trainees under Belpukur gram panchayat have marketed their candles in Krishi mela organized by Kulpi Block and are eager to start joint venture with Southern Resque for candle production and marketing activities. Hopefully next year, Southern Resque can be able to start any venture with these trained SHGs.
